Hello All,
Need your advice to dispose of old IT assets! Important official data present...
How can delete it permanently

    Your best bet it to ask your security team what is supported. If you don't have a security team then ask the your local government security office.
     
    There are different rules in different countries.

      Apologize for delay!
      If you want to completely destroy your sensitive information, you may take the help of data erasing software which completely wiped all the data. Once data is erased, it will not be recovered back by any means (based on overwriting of data). The advantage of using this method over others are:-
      1) No E-waste Produced
      2) Hard Drive can be again used.
      3) Erased unused space for better optimization of drive.
      Some of the recommended softwares are DBAN, Bitraser, WipeDrive etc.

        In a formal life, I was the security co-ordinator for a government org., most software will NOT pass the a security audit on what is allowed or not allowed to be used. Only physical destruction of the device was allowed and even then, they had set rules. Particularly based on the data that was on the device.
         
        As such before assume that any software is good enough, make sure that you check with your security team.
