Windows 8.1 Applying Borderwith change without reboot Friday, September 15, 2017 9:50 PM (permalink)

Hi,

I need to change the borderwith by applying registry keys values.

HKCU:\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowMetrics'
Key="BorderWidth"
  Type='String'
  Value='0'

Key="PaddedBorderWidth"
Type='String'
Value='0'

My problem is that change is effective only after a reboot or logoff. But that change is so tiny, I am reluctant to implement a reboot just for this. I am looking for a way to make it works on the current session.

On Windows 7, there was an option to change that value from control panel but it was removed  in Windows 8. So I was thinking using winbatch but seems it is not possible. I was looking for a tool or a rundll32 or posh script but found Nothing..

Any idea would be appreciate.

Thanks,

François
