When we deployed service pack for xp, we would occasionally get a machine that generated an error that stated windows xp installation failed. The message furthers states that windows xp was partially updated, and leaving the system in an unstable state. The tech would reinstall the service pack and it was fine. This was well over a year ago that we deployed the service pack. Yesterday we got three machines that popped up with that error message out of the clear blue (event id 4356) with no rhyme or reason. Nothing new was installed or anything. There was nothing in the logs outside this initial message, and the machines appear to be working fine. Has anyone else experienced this issue after such a long period of time? These machines are used daily, so they weren't stuck in a closet somewhere for months on end with no use.
