i have sms 2003 machine in its own domain with many domain machines...installation works great

i have been able to deploy the sms client to workgoup machines by &computername%userabc with the password in the client installation accounts

workgroups machiens have the sms client working as expected

i have shared SMSPKGD$  with the everyone group full permissions... i have deployed a program and sms says it was successful... BUT when it starts run for the first time it is a plug in into outlook normally the first time the user launches outlook it pops up says installing the plug in for 3 seconds and voila....now it says cannot connect to shar \\OPS-SMS01\SMSPKGD$\ permission denied....is there a way to allow anythign and eveything access to the share?

That's the network SHARE permissions, but did you also change the NTFS permissions on that physical folder so they can alt least READ?

I'm not sure I 100% follow...

SITE HIERARCHY
+ XYZ - SITENAME
  + SITE SETTINGS
     + CLIENT INSTALLATION METHODS
        + CLIENT PUSH INSTALLATION
           * in the ACCOUNTS tab, you specified an account that has rights to push to clients, right?  This sounds like this is working and should be an account that has rights on the CLIENT side to install the SMS Advanced Client.

Next:

SITE HIERARCHY
+ XYZ - SITENAME
   + SITE SETTINGS
     + Component Configuration
        + Software Distribution
           * On the GENERAL tab, you have specified an account in the ADVANCED CLIENT NETWORK ACCESS ACCOUNT section which has the rights to access the package share?  This isn't going to be an account at the client, it'll be what the client passes through to the DP when it tries to access the share.

And we're talking advanced client, not legacy client (NT, WinME), right?

Also, are all the firewalls between the client and the server(s) allowing all the appropriate SMS traffic through?
