To find out which mailboxes store their offline data in OST files and which do not, system administrators can use the Offline Folder Wizard. The wizard analyzes the mailboxes of the selected servers and provides three lists: one containing the Distinguished Names of the mailboxes storing their offline data in the OST files, a second containing the Distinguished Names of the mailboxes not storing their offline data in the OST files, and a third containing a list of the errors that occurred when the wizard attempted to logon to mailboxes. The wizard can analyze both Exchange 5.5 and Exchange 2000/2003 servers.

This Case Study explains how Reed Elsevier (a large publishing firm based in London) Headquarters had a requirement to deploy Vista & Office 2007 at RTM throughout their offices. Reed chose to implement a “Microsoft only” infrastructure to enable this fully automated deployment, and subsequently chose 1E to deliver this. The infrastructure included SMS 2003, OSD Feature Pack Update, BDD 2007, and WDS. As this engagement (August of 2006!) involved a large amount of Beta Technology prior to the release of BDD2007 & WDS, 1E worked very closely with the SMS & BDD product teams in Redmond.
