BDD 2007 - Configure Locations

In this section we will specify some settings that will apply depending on what subnet a machine is on.
Location settings are idea for specifying where to copy the log files, where to back up data, and any other setting that you can make a rule on based on WHERE the computer is located.

Go to Deploy > Database > and Right click on Locations and select NEW.

Enter in a name for the location and add in all of the default gateways that clients can get at that location.

Enter int he values you want for the Location Specific Settings. Here I am just setting the data locations.

Deselect everything for computer query.

Select Query for location-specific settings. Deselect all othehr options (unless you are using one of them).

On the Select make and model query options page Select Query for SMS packages to be installed on computers with this make and model. If you did not configure the Models int eh previous pages you can uncheck this. Also if you do not want the modesl queried you can deselect this.

Deselect all of the role query options.

Do not forget to update the ZTI Deployment point, OSD Package files, and the SMS DP or the new customsettings.ini file will not be in your package.
