If you are going to try and capture from a "Real" computer and not a virtual machine you will most likely need to add NIC Drivers to Windows PE when you build the Capture CD.
Here are some Drivers that will work for most Dell Models. If you do not need them skip the next step
Extranics.zipDownload them and extract to a Directory (I am using C:\Extranics)
Open the Console and Naviagate to Image Package > Right Click > All Tasks > Create Operating System Image Capture CD
The Operating System Image Capture CD Wizard opens
Enter the path to your ExtraNics (if needed)
Enter the path where you want the newly created iso image to be stored..
OSD begins creating your new Image Capture CD
The Wizard is finished.

Now either burn the iso to a CD or mount it using a VM. Depends on how you are doing it.
If you try the above and find you are unable to capture the reference machine try updating PE in the SMS console. I tried several times to capture my vmware virtual machine using the SMS OSD version of PE with the addition of NIC and Mass storage drivers. I did not spend a lot of time looking for a solution, I just updated PE using the WindowsPE 2005 Source files and pointed it to my NICS and Mass storage drivers.
Doing that immediately solved all the issues I was having with the stock SMS OSD PE. I do not have screenshots process yet. If you need assistance with it shoot me an email at hemsell AT gmail DOT com or Administrator AT SCCMADMIN DOT Com
Also, if you do this you need to ensure your PE files are on your SMS Server before you try to update PE. It seems to skip some files if you update PE across the network.
