MDT can be installed and run on machines running Windows XP Professional SP2, Vista, Server 2003 SP1, Server 2003 SP2 or Server 2008.
Perquisite software, which is already included in some of those Operating Systems, is:
- MMC 3.0
- .NET Framework 2.0
- Windows Installer 3.1 (only needed on XP SP2)
Note that if this will be used with SMS 2003 or SCCM, those have additional requirements.
The main hardware requirement is sufficient disk space for the application, disk images, and other files that will be needed to include in images.
