4/30/2004 I’ve hinted for some time about some significant changes coming for myITforum. Because of the success of myITforum, and because of all of you, myITforum has become the number-one destination for Windows systems administrators seeking to find answers and share knowledge and ideas. Since its launch as a source of information on Microsoft SMS, myITforum has grown from a handful of users to a large, active online community of IT professionals. In the process the site has evolved in scope and mission. Today, myITforum takes another step in that evolution.
I am proud and excited to be the first to tell you that myITforum has been acquired by TechTarget. If you’re not already familiar with TechTarget, it is a leading IT media and events company. Along with its conferences and magazines, TechTarget publishes a network of Web sites focused on specific technologies. Each site provides the latest industry news, original features, expert technical advice, Webcasts and white papers. I have worked as a TechTarget site expert for a few years, so I’m intimately familiar with TechTarget’s publishing successes, its editorial integrity, and commitment to serving its membership. So, it’s with great excitement, and high expectations, that myITforum joins TechTarget.
This move gives myITforum even further credibility and allows our community to take advantage of the many excellent resources TechTarget has to offer. myITforum is a web site driven by the community’s wants and needs, and that will never stop. The dedication and focus of the myITforum membership has always overwhelmed me, and I’ll now have the resources and time to better give back to all of you.
In addition to myITforum becoming part of the TechTarget network, I am also joining TechTarget as the Communities Editor. My focus will not change, myITforum will still take up the majority of my time, but I will now also be helping TechTarget build community for the other sites in their ever-expanding network.
So, it’s an exciting time for me personally, and also for the myITforum community. Look for great things to come and some interesting times ahead.
